Jenni and Russ are one of my favorite couples this wedding season!
They had their wedding ceremony and reception at the Calhoun Beach Club in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and it was absolutely breathtaking! When we arrived at this venue everyone was bustling with activity! Just Bloomed was getting the flowers ready, Linen Effects was spreading table cloths, Brian of the Brian Kinney Band was testing out the sound quality, and Jenni the gorgeous bride was preparing for her wedding day! ...in a room with the windows covered, surrounded by her adorable grand-children. She looked beautiful, glowing with excitement for this special day! After we photographed her getting ready, Beau and I scouted around the area to find great locations to capture Jenni and Russ, we walked out onto a beautiful balcony with a view of Lake Calhoun. It was a beautiful view, since Lake Calhoun was strictly a sailboats-only Lake! We instantly knew this wedding was going to be stunning, and a blast to enjoy with this amazing couple!
Russ arrived a few moments later, pulling up in his polished black antique Porsche! We took Jenni to the ceremony room to have her first moment with Russ. Standing by the sweeping staircase, Jenni looked perfect as Russ walked in to meet his bride for the first time that day. Jenni surprised Russ with a special grooms cake, one modeled after his Porsche car! It was spectacular!! Russ was over-joyed by the special gift from his soon to be wife.
Soon after family started arriving, and we were able to get some great shots with Jenni and Russ's fun families! For a few moments we were able to escape what was soon becoming a bustling wedding venue, and took them outside for a few shots of just the bride and groom. Russ's porsche was the perfect prop for a few wedding day pictures. We rushed back inside, for the ceremony was going to be starting soon! It was a beautiful ceremony accompanied by Bella Nota, a string quartet, who created the perfect ambiance for Jenni and Russ's ceremony. After the ceremony everyone filtered out to the balcony to enjoy the view, and some wine and delicious hors devours! Soon the reception area was ready, the decor was incredible!  Thanks to the wonderful wedding planner Sarah Trotter of Lasting Impressions Weddings.  All the guests enjoyed a delicious meal with Jenni and Russ. The various speeches made by family members made the whole evening an enjoyable time. Soon the Brian Kinney Band kicked up the music, and everyone was on the dance floor! As the night began to grow dark, everyone once again crowded onto the balcony to wish Jenni and Russ farewell with sparklers! It was the perfect image to capture at the end fo this amazing couple's beautiful wedding! We love Jenni and Russ, and were so happy to be a part of their wedding! ~Natalee
