Rafael says it was love at first sight; Alexa likes to pretend that it wasn’t (but it was!). It all started in May of 2012, when Alexa had an interview with the same company that Rafael worked for. She was wearing a grey suit,  a blue blouse, and heels that pinched. She thought her hair could have looked better, and wished she had worn the pearl earrings instead of studs.  She was nervous and gripping her resume portfolio tightly.  The HR Manager walked Alexa from the front of the building towards the back of the building to the interview conference room. Alexa made small talk with the HR Manager commenting on the nice weather and her excitement over graduating from Law School,  not even noticing that she had walked passed the desk of her future husband. But Rafael saw her. He didn’t notice her nervousness, or her shoes that pinched, or that her hair was slightly falling out of her bun. He just saw her smile, and from that moment on, he was in love. As Alexa entered the interview room, Rafael excitedly told his colleagues that he just saw the most beautiful girl he had ever seen and that one day he would marry her. As Alexa left the interview room, their eyes locked. She smiled sheepishly and looked to the ground. As she passed him she looked back, and there he was, still smiling at her. Alexa called her mom on the way home from that interview, and instead of talking about the perspective job, they gabbed about the cute boy in the red sweater. 1 month later Alexa  was hired at Rafael’s company, and the rest is history.
Beau thoroughly enjoyed this engagement session in beautiful Milwaukee, Wisconsin with this lovely couple! Milwaukee is one of our own favorite cities to capture great images! Alexa and Rafael are having their own wedding in 3rd Ward, Milwaukee. Being from San Francisco they love the city, historic architecture, and skyscrapers. The 3rd Ward reminds Alexa of home. Although it doesn’t have skyscrapers, its urban winding alleyways historic buildings, close vicinity to the water makes her feel at home! They chose to have their beautiful May wedding because, as you can see, that’s when it all started! We are so excited to share that amazing day with them! ~ Natalee
