Beau Petersen photographed Alynn and JJ's wedding at the Dancing Dragonfly Winery in St Croix Falls Wisconsin… This wedding was packed full of special moments and meaningful details. First off I must say that Alynn, you looked so classic and stunning on your wedding day!  I love that your “something blue” was a pin of bluebirds on your bouquet in memory of your grandmother who loved bluebirds.  Beau photographed this wedding with our very good friend Trine Bell, she was visiting us from California, she is a very talented photographer, so it was a treat to work with her!
It was a very meaningful to the bride and groom to have a private blessing at Apple River on family property… the exact location where JJ proposed to Alynn, so it is a special spot.  During the blessing, their parents and grandparents each shared a piece of wedding advice.  JJ and Alynn wrote their own “promises” to share with each other. They had Grandpa’s vintage firetruck to use for shuttling bridal party members down to river and for photos. The family land on the Apple River was gorgeous! Allyn’s family makes kakookies, a delicious snack to keep a wedding party going for the big day!  Moms of the neighborhood Alynn grew up in all got together and made ‘matrimony mints’ that were placed on each table at the reception. It is a tradition to do this anytime one of the neighbor kids gets married.  The Birch pillars that were used as decoration were all hand cut from the Farm.  The antlers were all JJ’s antlers. As the guests streamed in for the ceremony the excitement grew and there was a beautiful setting for the vows with the vineyard all around. After saying “I do” Beau photographed the newlyweds among the vines while the guests all enjoyed the beautiful late summer day at the winery.  They enjoyed the outdoor patio and delicious wine while listening to the chill sound of music played by Michael Shynes & Nathanael Rayway.  There was a colorful away of appetizers to pair with the wine, fruit, cheese and venison sticks and sausage that were from one of JJ’s deer.  As the sun started to set, everyone enjoyed dinner together and the grooms mom, Marilyn made a wonderful slideshow.  The dancing dragonfly winery has an upper balcony and a spacious dance floor for the bride and groom to have their first dance. The special father-daughter dance to "Red Hot,” brought back memories of Alynn’s childhood when they used to dance to that song when she was a kid.  This wedding day was full of thoughtful, loving memories and it was an honor to be a part of this fabulous wedding!! Thank you Alynn and JJ!! ~Bethany
