Beau and I went on our real Honeymoon four years after our wedding. We traveled a little before then but this is what I consider my honeymoon. We bought tickets to go to Thailand two days before the 2004 Tsunami hit. Our original plan was devastated! So we decided to go to Australia instead. I am so happy we went to this chilled out continent! The people are delightful and it was more beautiful than I expected. We stayed in Palm Cove Queensland at the Outrigger Resort, and it is now called the Peppers Beach Club Spa. We were picked up at the Cairns airport in a Rolls-Royce and I was giddy as we drove on the wrong side of the road and the Aussie driver was on the wrong side of the car. He let us stop at a bottle shop to pick up a little Bundaberg Rum and then we arrived at the Hotel. We received an upgraded room overlooking the ocean with a hot tub on the patio. This room was one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. We loved the resort pools and the beach out front. We had the jungle pool all to ourselves. The cafes in the area were sweet and colorful. We had pizza and Australian beers next door on a breezy day. We ended the evening with a walk on the beach. What a perfect day to get over the jet lag of 22 hours in airplanes. I will write more about Australia later... it is a wonderful memory that Beau and I share. ~Bethany
