Whitney and Lane are an awesome couple and they have become great friends of ours over the years... We are very good friends with their parents and we were so excited when these two got together to join two fabulous families!  They have been making wedding plans even before the official engagement.  Lane went all out for his engagement to Whitney!  Since Whitney's sister Morgan got married and moved to Munich Germany, it has been difficult for this tight family being so far from Morgan... so Lane flew Morgan and her husband Oliver back to Minnesota to be present for the engagement!  What an amazing surprise for Whitney and her family!  It was an honor to be at the engagement party and to see all of these wonderful people.  It was so cool to see Morgan and Oliver again, we had the pleasure of photographing their wedding 2 years ago.  It has been a crazy winther for this newly engaged couple. Shortly after the engagement Lane went ice fishing with his friends and he asked Whitney to join him on the ice... She didn't want to drive on Lake Minnetonka, so Lane went to pick her up.  He has grown up ice fishing, so he knew what to do if he was to go through the ice.  While driving through the middle of the lake, the ice began to break!  Lane and his car went through the ice!  He escaped through the window and jumped to the top of the ice. He lost his car but thankfully he is ok.  This engagement session was their first time back on the ice.  Whitney wanted to face her fear and reflect on what happened.  There have been a ton of cars going through the ice on Lake Minnetonka this winter.  I love that Lane and Whitney are focusing on the positive and Beau had a great time with them for this mini Winter Session.  They enjoyed the quaint downtown Excelsior area and going out for Bloody Mary's at Jake O'Connor's Pub.  Marty and Shirley (Whitney's parents) also met up with us at the pub.  Marty is such a cool father-in-law, he even surprised Lane with Maui Jim's. Their wedding will be a fabulous event this Summer at International Market Square in Minneapolis!  xoxo  ~Bethany
