We had the pleasure of visiting Seattle for a wedding this February! We love destination weddings because we love to try new areas. Beau was in Seattle before for some inspirational training a while back... he regrets not taking me the first time, but I was nursing our baby and I couldn't leave Bode. So we had a chance to go back together. It is the perfect place for a couples trip! We had so much fun!!! One morning was actually clear of clouds! We could see Mount Rainier!!! I love the overlook spot that our friend Sarah showed us. I was a total spaz because this was our last day in Seattle and we actually got to see the mountains... I hear this is rare. We had been here for five days and never knew there were mountains all around us. What a beautiful city! It is also a culinary treat to be in Seattle... there are so many choices for restaurants! I will tell you more about the food later. Let's just start with Breakfast. Breakfast is a big deal in Seattle. We enjoyed crepes and foam art lattes at Citizen Cafe near our lodging at The Maxwell Hotel, also Cafe Vita for amazing coffee. We really enjoyed the Maxwell Hotel and the Lower Queen Anne area where we stayed. But the best breakfast in the history of the world was at Portage Bay Cafe! There was a line outside the door and around the building! But it was worth the wait. Beau met the manager while waiting and made pals as he usually does with people. We got a tip from him that we could sit at the window bar and skip the line. We sat by a mom and daughter having breakfast together. They were adorable and they had just returned from Disney World. The little girl made me miss my own even more while she was back home with grandma and grandpa. The mama works for Urban Spoon Seattle, no wonder she knew about this fabulous place. Check out Urban Spoon in your area. I don't know if it was all the local fresh and organic ingredients or the bananas foster rum sauce or the all you can pile on your plate fixings bar filled with berries, whip cream and other fabulous toppings... but the combination made this place unforgettable! I must go back someday. ~Bethany
